Darkest before Dawn

Do we say "It's always darkest before the dawn?"

Yes. Have you been up before the sun lately? It is darkest before the dawn so the new day will have a clean pallette upon which to paint the bright colors of the dawn....

While I would generally say that yes, we (they) do say "it is always darkest before the dawn," I would have to make a strong recommendation that we (they) no longer say this. In my current ministry role I deal with alot of people in their darkest--and to offer them this platitude is borderline obscene--nobody wants to hear this when it's actually darkest. So, while we (they) may say this, I'm saying let's stop.

Suggestions

Feel free to leave a comment or e-mail ideas of things you would like approved as what "they say". We will decide if we say that or not and then post it on this site.
